Carebara diversa (Asian Marauder Ant)
A large and popular Ant species to keep, they can be very difficult to keep alive.
Its is recomended to add a small amount of substate to the test tube once eggs have reached larva stage, this is to aid in the spinning of the cocoon for the next stage.
Being very hungry once workers arrive, feed often with both protein and sugars. We recommend thinking ahead when it comes to housing, these ants grow into impressive numbers and can easily become to much for a small set up. If choosing to go bioactive, we recommend waiting until between 50-100 workers and using the largest enclosure you can, as expanding these can often be difficult.
Humidity requirements: 50 – 70%
Temperature requirements: 26 – 28 °C
Hibernation: None
Nutrition: Sugars from honey or sugar water. Protein from insect sources such as Waxworms, Mealworms or Dubia Roaches.
Queen size: 18-24 mm
